(28-07-2013) Analyst Predicts Google Will Partner With LG for 2014 Nexus 7 Tablet - G4dG33t

Analyst Predicts Google Will Partner With LG for 2014 Nexus 7 Tablet Jul 28th 2013, 09:01

It has been a few days since Google launched the second generation Nexus 7 tablet, and the rumors about the next Nexus 7 tablet have started circulating on the internet.  A new report speculates that the collaboration between Google and Asus will come to an end, and the 2014 Nexus tablet will be manufactured by LG.

According to KGI Securities analyst, Ming Chi Kuo, the search engine giant will partner with LG in 2014. The reason? Well, Mingchi Kuo specified a number of reasons why this partnership will bear fruit. We all know that LG has manufactured Nexus 4 which was very successful; however, the two companies didn't get a chance to work on a tablet. Doing so would bring another manufacturer into the competitive tablet market. If you don't know, MingChi Kuo has a decent track record of making predictions about upcoming devices.

Secondly, the partnership will LG will definitely boost Google's ranking in the touch screen market. With this collaboration, Google can obtain better display technology such as IPS and GF2 displays. LG Display has a decent standing in the touch screen market with Samsung being its number one competitor. On the other hand, LG Display is also the supplier of a few Apple products as well. Kuo mentions that LG Display's access to thinner and lighter IPS panels would narrow the gap between Google and Apple.

Lastly, rumors in the past also suggested that LG is planning to enter the tablet market, and this speculation definitely goes with the situation. LG cannot find a better partner than Google when it comes to tablets. So, there is a very high probability that we will see both companies signing a deal for the next year's Nexus 7 tablet.

I suggest we should all take this as a rumor until and unless we hear an official word about it.

(28-07-2013) Leaked Press Render of Blackberry 9720 Samoa - G4dG33t

Leaked Press Render of Blackberry 9720 Samoa Jul 28th 2013, 08:28

It is a known fact that Blackberry is expected to launch Blackberry OS 7 powered device by the end of the year – Blackberry 9720. A few weeks back, the device did pose for the camera, and later appeared in a video where the device was shown in action. Today, we have an unofficial press render of the alleged Blackberry 9720 codenamed Samoa.

The leaked emerged from the one and only, @evleaks and it does look similar to what we have seen in the past. The device features a dedicated BBM button with an optical track pad, back, send and power buttons just like every other Blackberry device.

It is expected that the device will feature a full QWERTY keyboard, 1,450 mAh battery, display sporting 480 x 360 pixels resolution and running BB OS7 on top of it. More details about the specifications and availability of the alleged Blackberry 9720 Samoa are still unknown, but if we come across anything, we will share it with you right away. The only thing we are confirmed of right now is that the device will hit the shelves before the end of this year.

Coming towards a more important point, do you think this is a wise move by the Canadian manufacturer? They are already stumbling in terms of financials as well as iand launching a device with outdated software doesn't seem like a wise move to me. There are already a number of better devices in the market that may come within the similar price range, with better specifications and software. What do you think?

(28-07-2013) Australian Woman Hospitalized After Getting Shocked from Her iPhone - G4dG33t

Australian Woman Hospitalized After Getting Shocked from Her iPhone Jul 28th 2013, 08:06

It appears to me as the electrocution events are on the rise since last week. Earlier, a Chinese girl died after answering her iPhone 5 while it was charging at home, due to an alleged counterfeit Apple charger. Later, another news mentioned a Chinese man ended up in a coma after getting shocked when he plugged in his iPhone 4 to the adapter.

Due to the increasing number of counterfeit accessories in China, Apple even rolled out a safety page on its Chinese site warning users to purchase only authenticated chargers that are approved by Apple. They even posted few images to differentiate between an original charger and a counterfeit one. Today, another such incident was reported from Australia where a woman, in her 20s, got shocked while using her iPhone.

Australian authorities issued warnings after the girl was hospitalized due to a shock received while using iPhone. The woman was taken to the hospital and is said to be in a stable condition. Currently, there is no evidence if the iPhone was plugged in or not but ambulance authorities said that they respond to many emergency calls related to mobile phone shocks. The officials said they received about 232 emergency calls of such electric shocks and asked users to take precautions while using their devices.

We must take all the precautionary measures to make sure that such events do not occur. Firstly, avoid using any third party charger that is not approve by Apple. Secondly, it is recommended not to answer a call when the device is charging. Also, one of the spokesman mentioned that it is due to the dust that could get into the terminals resulting in a short circuit. So, make sure the dusty devices are vacuumed before use. Stay safe.

(28-07-2013) Nokia Lumia 729 Heading to Verizon - G4dG33t

Nokia Lumia 729 Heading to Verizon Jul 28th 2013, 07:00

Nokia is on the verge of releasing more Lumia powered devices in order to dominate the mid-range market with its Windows Phone 8 series. Few days back, the Finnish maker unveiled Lumia 625 that was targeted at a lower end market. Not to mention that Nokia also unveiled its much-hyped 41MP cameraphone, Nokia Lumia 1020 few weeks back. Now, a press render of an alleged Nokia Lumia device dubbed as Lumia 729 has been leaked that will be exclusively available on Verizon.. The back of the leaked image points out that the device will feature a PureView camera as well.

The handset is expected to replace the mid-range Lumia 822 that is already available on the Big Red. It is also expected that device may feature a HD screen, which will make it a strong competitor in the market.

There are no details about other specifications and pricing of the device but I think they will emerge very soon. I think it will be priced a little low as Lumia 928 is already available on the carrier for $99 with a 2-year contract. What do you think?

(28-07-2013) Nexus 7 Received Two New Android 4.3 Updates - G4dG33t

Nexus 7 Received Two New Android 4.3 Updates Jul 28th 2013, 07:45

The second generation Nexus 7 has had its fair share of attention in the past few weeks. As you all know, a number of retailers had the devices on their shelves before the official availability date of 30 July. Those people who were lucky enough to get the device are reporting that the slate received two updates after it was out of the box.

The first update will automatically begin when your tablet connects to WiFi for the first time, during the initial setup process. The device shuts down, reboots, applies the update that changes it to JWR66N build and brings the user back to the setup process where you are required to sign in with your Google account.

The second update comes as a notification, which is automatically downloaded in the background. After the user accepts the update and installs it, the build number becomes JSS15J. Both of these updates are minor and bring some improvements and bug fixes.

The device is sold out on major retailers across the country. However, the device can also be order via Google Play Store which will arrive starting July 30. If you want to get your hands before he official date, you can pay a visit to a few retailers and see if they have any piece in stock.
